About Us

Sri Vidya Kalashrama is a well-known institution in Bangalore, Karnataka. This institution has been successfully running since 2011 under the able guidance of Gurus Vidushi Smt Swathi and Smt Sneha with aim of imparting Bharatanatyam learning to youngsters. Numerous dance recitals all over the world and in famous temples all around India have added new dimensions and spirit to the institution.

Sisters have secured bronze medal in the duet Bharatanatyam category at the Indian International Groove fest held at Thailand, Bangkok (2019)

Swathi and Sneha are deeply grateful for their parents Smt C Nagarathna and Sri B Prabhakar - who are a guiding force and have been providing unwavering support behind all their accomplishments. Parent's steadfast belief in their daughter's dreams has provided them with a nurturing and loving environment to thrive.

Smt Vidushi Swathi Gowda

Swathi, disciple of Karnataka Kalashree Guru Vidushi Brunda Krishna Iyengar and Smt Vidushi Ananya of Ananya Kalaniketana. Started learning this art form at a tender age of 6 and is still pursuing her continued study of Bharatanatyam. Swathi has completed her Vidwath Certification in Bharatanatyam awarded by Karnataka Secondary Education Examination Board. She has successfully completed her Visharada Certification in the exams conducted by Akhil Bharatiya Gandharva Mahavidya Mandal, Mumbai and MFA - master’s in fine arts from Kalaikaveri University, Trichy

Smt Sneha Gowda

⁠Sneha is a passionate dancer and accomplished academic, whose journey in the performing arts began at the age of 12. She began her training under the able guidance of Karnataka Kalashree Guru K Brunda and Vidushi Ananya. Sneha's commitment to her craft is evident in her achievements in dance examinations. She completed her Senior certification conducted by KSEEB and is currently preparing for her Vidwath certification. She has also completed her Visharada certification from Akhil Bharatiya Gandharva Mahavidya Mandal, Mumbai.

Karnataka Kalashree Guru Vidushi Brunda Krishna Iyengar and Smt Vidushi Ananya

Karnataka Kalashree Guru K Brunda

A renowned dancer and teacher with a fine sense of Abhinaya and Nritta, Guru Vidushi K Brunda has dedicated herself to the practice and propagation of Bharatanatyam. She has been imparting the knowledge of this divine art with all its nuances, to many young and enthusiastic aspirants over the years. She has been bestowed with Karnataka Kalashree award by Karnataka Sangeetha Nritya Academy.

Guru Brunda holds First Rank in the Dance Senior Certification examination conducted by KSEEB in 1986. She holds a B.A. in Performing Arts with a Gold Medal from University of Mysore.

Vidushi Smt Ananya

A Bharatanatyam dancer of high caliber tutored under the love and care of her mother Guru K Brunda and further under the discipleship of Guru Shankar Kandasamy of Malaysia, she has been performing in over 650 shows across India.

She has travelled far and wide, performing duets with her mother Guru K Brunda and accompanies both her gurus on the Nattuvangam. She is the recipient of State level scholarship from Kannada and Nattuvangam and Central Govt. Scholarship for Bharatanatyam.
